To define the broadband phone adaptor with a static IP, you will have to configure the followings on your phone adaptor device:

1) Insert a valid IP. Usually the router's IP address is 192.168.1.1, so your phone adaptor should have an IP that its first three fields (octet) must be the same as the routers. (e.g. 192.168.1.150)

2) Insert the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. In order to obtain this field you should do the followings:


At your computer that connecting to your phone adaptor device, go to your

  • "START" menu.
  • Select RUN
  • Type in cmd (for Windows 95/98 type command)
  • A new black window will open
  • Type ipconfig and press "ENTER"
  • At the output of this command, you will see your Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.

  • Subnet Mask is: 255.255.255.0
